The first picture shows how happy Josh was the whole entire trip. He absolutely loved the beach! This particular picture was his reaction to getting to drive over a BIG HUGE bridge....he was soooooooo excited to go on it.
We stayed in the ocean front hotel on the left behind Troy. We didn't pay for an ocean view room, but got stuck in the elevator when we got there....going up and down and up and down, so the hotel upgraded our room to an ocean front room with a full kitchen in it. Super nice!
Both Josh and Bradley love to dig. Before we left on the trip, Josh and I had researched online how to build really good sandcastles, so we had all of our equipment ready and Josh was ready to go to work. I think this is what Josh was looking forward to the most.
My job was to haul water from the ocean for the sandcastle.
Josh and Bradley dug for hours. They were in heaven! We ended up with a super sandcastle! Josh wanted Daddy to dig the big huge hole in the middle.
Bradley, not yet two, observed that the water "gets you and then goes back; gets you, then goes back". I thought this was a super cute observation for a kid his age. He's such a cute little boy.
The beach was really shallow making the waves roll in from super far away. They broke many, many times before reaching the shore. I had never seen a beach like this before.
That night we had a campfire on the beach and roasted hotdogs and "mushrooms". Josh had been asking if he could have some "mushrooms" since arriving at the beach and I hadn't been able to figure out what he wanted. Come to find out he had seen the marshmallows in my packed food bin and wanted some of those "mushrooms". Funny kid.
Troy lit the fire with just one match and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset while we sang around the campfire. Bradley loves to sing....I think this was his favorite thing we did.
On the last day, we went to an aquarium and got to feed some seals.

We then drove down to Cannon Beach, a beach about 10 miles south of Seaside to check it out. It was really windy and misty, so we just ate our lunch on the beach and then left for home. In this picture, there are some huge rocks behind us which you cannot see because of all of the hazy mist. This beach seemed to have even whiter sand. Maybe next trip we will spend some more time at Cannon Beach.

What a great vacation!! It looks fun and you have such a cute family. A baby girl will make it much cuter, of course!
I like the "mushrooms" too! Digging in the dirt looks like fun. I am amazed at the size of your sandcastle!! Did you go to "sandcastles.com" to find out about how to build one??
That looked like such a fun trip. We took Logan to the beach too recently. He is a big fan of digging also.
